Positive Discipline For Parents
Positive Discipline is a method that teaches children social emotional life skills for respectful relationships through parenting with both kindness and firmness. As research shows, children are inherently born with a connection to others and as this connection continues in a positive direction with their family, school and community, children are more likely to feel a sense of belonging and significance, which decreases risk of maladaptive behavior and leads to effective long-term results. Through positive discipline, parents will learn how to use an authoritative, not permissive or punitive, form of parenting to help develop good character in their children, such as respect, empathy, problem-solving skills, contribution, cooperation, accountability, and healthy self-esteem.
Whether you are a parent of a toddler, or an adolescent, you will find that this method of Positive Discipline will provide effective parenting tools at any stage. Your child will be empowered through strong perceptions of personal capabilities as well as intrapersonal, interpersonal, systemic, and judgmental skills.
